Flying from Zurich to over 90 vacation destinations worldwide, the award-winning Swiss airline Edelweiss is investing in an extensive modernization of its long-haul fleet, to ensure that the best time of the year will continue to begin with boarding one of their aircraft. A total of six Airbus A350s will be introduced starting in 2025. In addition to a quieter cabin and more comfort for passengers, the new long-haul aircraft consume around 25% less kerosene and emit around a quarter less CO2 than the A340s they are replacing. This first A350 is named after the highest mountain in the canton Graubünden which, at 4048 meters, is the only 4000-meter peak in the Eastern Alps: Piz Bernina.
